Packing, Shipping & Collection

Potters Auction offers a professional in-house packing service for many smaller items purchased at auction. This service is provided for the convenience of our customers but is not included as part of the purchase price.

The removal or collection of all purchased lots remains the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Packing Service

If you require your purchases to be packed, our experienced team will carefully prepare your items using appropriate protective packaging to help ensure they are ready for safe transportation.

Our packing charges reflect:

  • The time taken to professionally pack your items.

  • The cost of the boxes, protective materials and packaging used.

  • The actual postage or courier charges, where applicable.

As all items vary in size, weight and packing requirements, we are unable to provide packing or shipping quotations before the auction has concluded.

Once your purchases have been paid for, we will prepare your items and issue a separate invoice covering any packing, postage or courier costs.

Using Your Own Carrier

Buyers are welcome to arrange their own courier or shipping company to collect purchases from our saleroom.

If you choose to use your own carrier, we can prepare and professionally pack your items ready for collection. A packing charge will apply where this service is requested.

Alternatively, your chosen courier may collect the items unpacked if you prefer.

Liability

While every care is taken when handling and packing your purchases, Potters Auction accepts no liability for loss, theft or damage once items have left our premises, regardless of whether shipping has been arranged by Potters Auction or by the purchaser.

Any claim for loss or damage during transit must be made directly with the carrier responsible for transporting the goods.

International Shipping

We regularly ship items worldwide. International buyers are responsible for ensuring that purchased items comply with the import regulations of their destination country and for paying any customs duties, taxes, VAT or other charges that may become payable.

Large & Fragile Items

Furniture, oversized items and large quantities of fragile goods may not be suitable for standard postal services. We are happy to recommend trusted courier companies, or buyers may arrange their own preferred carrier.
